Sparkling Wine Forum 2026 : Combining R&D with new opportunities for sparkling wines

On 19 May, the 4th edition of the Sparkling Wine Forum will be held in Reims, confirming its status as a benchmark event for the global sparkling wine industry. Under the patronage of the OIV, this unique event will offer innovative solutions to the current challenges facing the sector.

An event rooted in the heart of the Champagne region

The Village by CA in Reims-Bezannes, located opposite the Champagne Ardenne TGV station, will host this new edition, which comes at a time of economic uncertainty for the wine industry.

"In a more challenging economic climate for the wine industry, which has not spared champagne either, this new edition of the Sparkling Wine Forum will offer innovative marketing and technological solutions from the Champagne region and other sparkling wine-producing regions to meet current challenges and prepare for the future," explains Cyril Egoroff, Managing Director of EFFEVENT.

Since its creation, the Sparkling Wine Forum has established itself as a unique forum for dialogue between university researchers, innovative companies, inter-professional organisations and appellations, promoting the sharing of scientific knowledge and the emergence of concrete solutions.

A rich programme focusing on the major challenges facing the sector

Throughout the day, Sparkling Wine Forum 2026 will feature joint presentations by researchers and economic stakeholders, focusing on key themes:

  • Wine-growing challenges, vine management methods and grape variety selection in the context of climate change
  • Innovations in wine-making equipment, processes and products
  • Innovations in the world of bottles, corks and various closure protocols in the construction and preservation of the sensory profile of wines

Some of these sessions will be led by the Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins de Champagne (CIVC).

In a particularly challenging economic climate for the sector, Sparkling Wine Forum 2026 will also feature keynote speeches and round tables dedicated to market dynamics, with a specific focus on:

  • Changes in consumer expectations and purchasing behaviour for sparkling wines
  • Market dynamics and new export prospects

These discussions will highlight the latest scientific advances, technological innovations and strategies implemented by the industry to combine quality, sustainability and economic performance.

A dynamic format that encourages discussion

True to its DNA, the Sparkling Wine Forum 2026 will maintain an interactive format with short, powerful presentations. The day will include:

  • Scientific conferences presenting the latest advances in research
  • Feedback from professionals in the sector based on their experiences in the field
  • Round tables and opportunities for discussion between participants
  • Lunch cocktail reception to facilitate networking

Who is this event for?

The Sparkling Wine Forum is aimed at all professionals involved in the future of sparkling wines: researchers, winegrowers, oenologists, manufacturers, inter-professional organisations and decision-makers.

A look back at the success of the 2025 edition
