Description

WID Group offers the WID Track solution: a system based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) microchips, fully compatible with the NFC (Near Field Communication) protocol used in smartphones. Each chip carries a unique identifier that links all information related to a bottle, including European labeling standards (ingredient list, nutritional values, recycling information, etc.), which are authorized for dematerialization. This chip is discreetly inserted under the front or back label of a bottle, either directly on the producer’s labeling machine or by integrating it into labels at the printer, providing producers with ready-to-use rolls. By scanning the chip with their smartphone, resellers and consumers gain direct access to all the information shared by the winemaker. From their private space on our web platform, producers can track each of their bottles and receive alerts if they are distributed in markets for which they were not intended. Notably, RFID-NFC chips can be read through different materials such as cardboard or wood, and in bulk — meaning all bottles in a single package can be identified in one single reading operation — unlike QR codes, which can only be scanned individually. This precise, bottle-by-bottle order management is also available as an option, along with an extended range of French-made equipment (connected table, logistics tunnel, logistics paddle, etc.).
