Vitivisio reinvents the vineyard: precision at the service of sustainable viticulture
Like the winegrower's eyes, Vitisio observes and automatically records the vineyard's datas. Mounted on all sorts of trakors, the vitibox sensor operates both day and night, in all vineyards. Thanks to AI, it delivers on the eVitivisio SaaS plateform the analyses which will allow to track vineyard health with an accurate geolocation (vine stock to vine stock).
In 2022, Laurent Godeau and Arnaud Susset, founders of Vitivisio, observed that to assess their vineyard health with accuracy and reliability, the winemakers have to spend many times on it, time which is a very valuable ressource for them.
Vitibox is a proxy detection sensor mounted on a traktor, which records vineyard's pictures whith high frequency captation and fine resolution. This high frequency captation ensures the same vine to be shoot under several views and to recompose hidden elements. The fine resolution ensures an accurate detection of diseases' symptoms. Then this datas are analysed by AI which established the health oh each vine stock : healthy, dead, missing, seedling or unhealthy (vine decline diseases). This AI has been trained to recognize every part of a vineyard (vine stock, leaf, grappevine, etc.), and to determine if the observation differs from an healthy vine stock. Just like a humain brain, the more this AI is trained the more it will be able to determine precisely severals symptoms.
Now, Compas, which has the exclusive distribution rights for the Champagne's area protected designation, sees in this sensor a solution for local issues such as :
• The low replanting vineyard rate, combines to difficulties to count dead or missing vine stock.
• Reducing the use of plant protection products to an efficient use, due to intra-vigneyard modulation.
• Been able to precisely and reliabely diagnose the vine decline diseases.
The commercialization of this sensor (available for purchase, rental or service), which is continually improving, has just begun !
Over the next year, the additionnal data supplying will allow new detections, and new applications will emerge, such as the golden flavescence, powdery mildew, mildew or intra-vineyard modulation of fertilization and treatments.
With over 20 million data analyzed on more than 14 grape varieties, from Cognac to Bordeaux, while passing through the Loire and Champagne with Compas, Vitivisio aims to be the leader in vine-growing precision.
Helping the winegrowers to accelarate the transition to an efficient and sustainable wine-growing by giving the futur tools is the task of Vitisio and Compas.
