Rotary jet washer: a tailor-made solution for de-sugaring aluminium pallets in stacks of 8 or more during the harvest, as well as for external washing of barrels and casks.
At the VITeff 2025 trade fair, we presented a washing machine with a rotating washing ramp, designed and manufactured by SAS Chayoux of Champillon (51160).
This machine works on the same principle as our crate washers, i.e. in a closed circuit with a water supply, a circulation pump, a washing ramp and filtration.
This principle saves a lot of water compared with water jet or karcher washing, which uses waste water.
It eliminates the need for tedious, time-consuming manual handling.
While the presses are being loaded, the pressmen stack the dirty pallets on the platform. The forklift truck operator can pick up a stack of 8 identical aluminium pallets and place them inside the machine on a fixed stainless steel support. Simply close the rounded door and press the start button. Washing takes place while the pressers form another stack of pallets.
To wash the barrels on the outside, a small electric stacker is used to position them easily in the centre of the machine.
An interchangeable washing ramp can be placed as close as possible to the barrel for optimum washing. Made of stainless steel tube in the shape of a bridge and equipped with a multitude of nozzles, this ramp rotates around the perimeter of the stack of pallets or the barrel to be washed.
The nozzles fed by the pump spray with good pressure between the pallets, or as close as possible to the barrel, all around and on top of the stack to ensure a good wash. The speed of rotation of the washing ramp is adjustable in speed and number of rotations.
Please note: only pallets built with an aluminium bar structure on legs, allowing water jets to pass through its perforated sections, are compatible with this machine.
These pallets are the most common in Champagne.
This machine can also be used for exterior washing of barrels and casks and all other containers.
