COLLARD, the adventure of a Champagne specialist established in all the world's vineyards

Published on November 14, 2024 by Faustine Milard

COLLARD, a long-established player in the wine industry, has established itself as a pioneer in innovation for winegrowers, particularly in the world of sparkling wines. Thanks to its technical expertise and constant search for innovative solutions, COLLARD plays a key role in improving wine-making practices, both in France and internationally.

A pioneering career in winegrowing

For five generations, the COLLARD family has combined tradition and innovation to meet the needs of winegrowers. In 1962, the company revolutionised the sector with the invention of the first vine trimming machine, a tool that facilitates vine pruning and has optimised practices in vineyards around the world. A pioneer in pneumatic leaf stripping, COLLARD has established itself as a leader in the manufacture of viticultural and arboricultural machinery, with solutions adapted to both narrow vineyards and large areas. Today, the company continues to develop its equipment, focusing on quality and customising machines for its customers.

COLLARD has 5 branches close to its customers in the Champagne region, enabling it to represent prestigious brands such as BOBARD (high-clearance tractors and sprayers), BOISSELET (soil-working tools), INFACO (pruning shears and electric attachers) and NIKO (caterpillar tracks), among others.

Innovation at the heart of the new "COLLARD ELLIPSE-MULTIROTOR" range

COLLARD's most recent innovation is the "COLLARD ELLIPSE-MULTIROTOR" range, a leaf stripper that represents a major advance in vineyard management. This model allows early leaf removal at flowering, which promotes the fall of flower caps, improves the aeration of bunches and optimises the penetration of phytosanitary treatments. By reducing the need for anti-botrytis treatments and helping to control powdery mildew, this technology offers an effective response to health issues, while contributing to more environmentally-friendly viticulture. Thanks to several international patents, this new range stands out as an innovative solution, adapted to the modern challenges of winegrowing.
